The London Police Service, Crime Prevention and Community Service Unit has partnered with the Old East Village BIA to create a business focused crime prevention and community safety education program. Targeted at the business community and the residential community on the Dundas Street commercial corridor, the program will educate and recruit local businesses, residents and area stakeholders to address identified safety issues.

Police initiatives which utilize community partnerships have proven to be an effective way to prevent crime in the city. The key component of this new partnership with the Old East Village BIA is the creation of a Business Academy. This new crime prevention venture will provide an excellent opportunity for merchants and other citizens from the business community to learn about preventing business related crimes, crime prevention through environmental design and the roll of the police in our community.
