The Old East Village BIA mandate is to beautify, revitalize, and promote the Old East Village shopping district on Dundas Street between Adelaide Street and Elizabeth Street. The installation of street banners, flower baskets, benches, and seasonal decorations enhance the image of a family oriented shopping district. The BIA has made funding available to improve properties and promotes the Old East Village commercial corridor as a good place to shop, visit, and do business. The BIA consists of local merchants, business & property owners, and agency representatives structured as a municipal sub-committee of the City of London.

The Business Police Academy is one example of many new and exciting projects now underway. A partnership between the London Police Service and the Old East Village BIA has created this pilot project, the first in the country, which educates the local Business community towards understanding crime prevention and their active and complementary roles. This pilot project is generously funded by the National Crime Prevention Strategy.
