Awning, Signage and Decorative Lighting Grant Program
What is it?
- A City of London program that assists property owners in the Old East Village Commercial Corridor Revitalization area to improve the façade of buildings with awnings, signage, and decorative lighting occupied by a targeted or non-targeted ground floor use.
- Qualifying property owners may be eligible for a one-time grant for a maximum of $3,000 or half (50%) of the value of the eligible awning, signage and decorative lighting improvements proposed.
Eligible Improvements may include:
- Awnings, signage and lighting improvements consistent with the Centretown Façade Guidelines (1990)
- Professional Fees
- Rear-lit signage and awnings are not eligible improvements
Approved applicant will receive the grant when:
- When the applicant submits a letter of acknowledgment at the end of the calendar year to the City of London certifying the number of months a targeted or non-targeted use has actively occupied the ground floor of the building.
- The work is completed
- The Contractors has been paid in full
- If there are no outstanding property taxes or debts to the City
