Façade Restoration Loan Program
What is it?
- a City of London program that assists property owners in the Old East Village Commercial Corridor Revitalization area to improve their building façade
- qualifying property owners may be eligible for a ten-year, interest-free loan up to a maximum of $25,000 or half the value of the eligible façade improvements being proposed
What buildings are eligible?
- all buildings located directly on the Dundas Street Commercial Corridor from Adelaide Street to Charlotte Street
Eligible Improvements may include:
- repainting
- repointing masonry or brickwork
- window repair and restoration
- removal of inappropriate signage or cladding
- installation of new signage, canopies, awnings and lighting
Who qualifies for assistance?
- registered property owner
- must have 10% equity in the property
- must have submitted a Façade Loan application prior to the improvements being undertaken
- must submit two quotes in support of the proposed improvements
Approved applicant will receive the loan when:
- all Improvements have been completed
- the Contractor has been paid in full
- inspection has been carried out by City staff
- loan agreement has been signed
