Façade Restoration Loan Program

What is it?

  • a City of London program that assists property owners in the Old East Village Commercial Corridor Revitalization area to improve their building façade
  • qualifying property owners may be eligible for a ten-year, interest-free loan up to a maximum of $25,000 or half the value of the eligible façade improvements being proposed

What buildings are eligible?

  • all buildings located directly on the Dundas Street Commercial Corridor from Adelaide Street to Charlotte Street

Eligible Improvements may include:

  • repainting
  • repointing masonry or brickwork
  • window repair and restoration
  • removal of inappropriate signage or cladding
  • installation of new signage, canopies, awnings and lighting

Who qualifies for assistance?

  • registered property owner
  • must have 10% equity in the property
  • must have submitted a Façade Loan application prior to the improvements being undertaken
  • must submit two quotes in support of the proposed improvements

Approved applicant will receive the loan when:

  • all Improvements have been completed
  • the Contractor has been paid in full
  • inspection has been carried out by City staff
  • loan agreement has been signed
