Upgrade to Building Code Loan Program
What is it?
- A City of London program that assists property owners in the Old East Village Commercial Corridor Revitalization area with interior improvements that relate to Fire and Building Code requirements
- Qualifying property owners may be eligible for a ten-year, interest-free loan up to a maximum of $50,000 or half (50%) of the value of the eligible improvements proposed.
Eligible Building Code upgrades may include:
- Installation or alteration of fire protection systems
- Extension of plumbing and electrical services
- Reinforcement of floors, walls or ceilings
- Required improvements to heating, ventilation, and cooling systems
- Improvements for barrier-free accessibility
- Roofing upgrades
- Professional fees
