Old East Village is the place to be this holiday season! Find your perfect unique gift and experience holiday cheer in OEV. From the excellent independent shops, Holiday events and performances, finding the fresh food for your holiday dinner, to exploring independent markets such as the Merry Market at 100 Kellogg, there’s no shortage of things to explore here in OEV.

Ring in the New Year with Sarah Smith at The Aeolian.

The Aeolian Concerts

The Aeolian is hosting many great holiday concerts to help bring the whole family Holiday cheer! Don’t miss the veteran solo performer John D. Huston performing Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol on December 24 at 7:30. Local musician, Sarah Smith, will also be performing to ring in the New Year on December 31 as part of the Phoenix Sessions!


The Palace Theatre

Check out the shows at the Palace Theatre this holiday! There are several upcoming LYTE (London Youth Theatre Education) performances on December 18th and 19th. Keep an eye on their social media series highlighting the past, present, and future for gift ideas, including theatre tickets for 2022!

Are you looking for a special gift for a loved one? Visit the amazing independent shops along the corridor! There are many great retail options locally here in Old East Village—Wisdom Café for the tea lover, Bread and Roses Bookshop and the Mystic Bookshop for the book lovers, Strings Café and Guitar Shop for the musician in your life. There’s also the London Clay Art Centre where you can find a unique handmade ceramic piece for a friend or loved one!

Christmas Pop Up at Union 10

Known for its delightful Christmas décor, check out the Christmas Pop up at Union Ten Distilling Co. this Holiday Season! Enjoy some festive craft-cocktails and a wood-fired pizza with friends and family. You can also book a Christmas party! Remember to bring your best ugly sweater.


The Upcoming Christmas Market happening at the Western Fair!

The Western Fair Market

The Western Fair Market is hosting a Christmas market with exciting activities such as horse-and-wagon rides on December 15th and carolers, Santa, and photo ops on December 22! While you’re there, admire the festive lights in Queen’s Park. In addition, the Market at Western Fair will be open during these extended hours to peruse the vendors and search for the perfect holiday gifts and pick up some fresh food for the holidays.


If you’re looking for other places to pick up some fresh food and produce for the holidays, check out the newly opened Ugly Local Grocery Bodega at Somerville 630 and The Hungary Butcher, the authentic Hungarian style butcher.


Explore the Merry Market at 100 Kellogg this Holiday season.

Merry Market at 100 Kellogg

The Merry Market is a Holiday market happening in 100 Kellogg, the former Kellogg factory reformatted to be the ultimate entertainment space. Decked out with holiday lights and Christmas cheer, there’s a Christmas tree adorned with breakfast-inspired ornaments and beautiful ice sculptures. The Merry Market is a great way to shop local and support independent businesses and check out family fun activities such as Letters to Santa.

Quite a few OEV businesses are participating such as Bella’s Acacia Catering offering delicious vegetarian Korean food, 10Eighteen Café with coffee and bites, and Fire Roasted Coffee also offering coffee and baked goods from Willie’s Café.


100 Kellogg also hosts independent businesses such as Powerhouse Brewery and Paradigm Spirits. Make sure to also check them out while you’re there and complete part of the OEV Libation District tour!


Make sure to spend any Construction Dollars by their expiry on December 31, 2021. Perfect for Holiday Shopping.
