Park It At The Market this Canada Day!

If you’re looking to get out and about this Canada Day - in a safe and socially distant way - check out Park It At The Market! This event - which runs every Wednesday from 4-8pm for the rest of the summer - started last year in partnership with Forest City Food Trucks, marries grocery shopping, take out, artisanal items and food trucks. And this year, add local brewers into the mix! Yes, you can do your usual Market shopping al fresco while enjoying a cold brew from Anderson Craft Ales. Does it get much better?

To find out a little more about the event, we spoke with Dan Ross, The Market Western Fair District, manager.

“In this new reality, it has been a challenge, but this open air activity brings together vendors and patrons… and has received a widely positive response,” Dan told us.

According to him, the public has been very respectful at the Market generally as well as this event. Physical distancing has been implemented, hand sanitizer is available, healthy and safety signage is visible, and if need be, a limited number of customers will be allowed entry at a time. However, even though Dan confirmed they have seen numbers in both vendors and patrons increase, they haven’t had to have anyone wait around in a line as of yet!

Dan confirmed that “this event is a great way to get out and support local” while maintaining a safe and healthy distance. For tomorrow’s event, you’ll find a roster of vendors who all operate inside the Market or have a connection to past events. Some of these vendors include Artisan Bakery, Anderson Craft Ales, Produce Guyz, Uncle Dad’s Meat Pies, J. Bogal Foods (pierogis), Rahkee Chopra, and more! For the full list click right here. In addition, enjoy the gourmet delights of such food trucks as The Donut Diva, Graze n’ Go, Big Daddy Bacon, and the Pierogi Queen. We think this really is a no-brainer!

“We’ve had a lot of people coming out and people have been happy,” Dan said referring to both vendors and patrons.

There has been a whole lot going on at the Market including the second floor reopening and this particular event. Be sure to stay up to date right here and drop by this Canada Day see the diverse array of options available for yourself!
