A Night At The Palace! Only in OEV Fridays - October

We’ve got your Friday night plans: Only in OEV Fridays is happening at the Palace Theatre in partnership with Odyssey Records & Cinema! Join us on October 20th from 5-9pm for a fantastic free evening of movies, music, and more.

Totoro
Watch My Neighbor Totoro for free at the Palace on Oct. 20!

The night’s feature film is My Neighbor Totoro. Created by Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, this animated movie has captured hearts and minds since its release. It follows two sisters who move to the country and befriend the whimsical nearby forest spirits, including a big cuddly creature known as Totoro. The beautiful animation style and whimsical storyline are beloved by all ages! The film will run from 7:15-8:45pm, but make sure to come early to enjoy the rest of the event.

Starting just after 5pm, you can enjoy live music from local London artists! We’ll be welcoming Yessica Woahneil to the stage, who dropped her latest EP, soft club, in August. Phil Kikuchi will also be playing. An experienced teacher and performer, Phil is the owner of Strings Guitar Shop, an OEV hub for all things music. Stay tuned for more details to be announced!

It wouldn’t be Only in OEV Fridays without local vendors! Check out tarot and more from Mystic Bookshop or find your new favourite record thanks to Odyssey Records & Cinema. Pick up beautiful baby items from Terracottabebe, treats for your furry friends from The Cat’s Bark, or a new wreath from CrobarCreations. Fibre artist Oíche Rua will be providing beautiful items and materials for your next creative project, and Abbie Darling will have handmade jewellery and upcycled clothing.

Of course, snacks are essential for a night at the theatre! The Palace Theatre will have popcorn and beverages at their concession stand, and Dough EV will be serving up fresh and delicious donuts. If you’re looking for something more savoury, Lady J’s Pies n Patties will be back with her fan-favourite Jamaican patties and samosas.

Everyone is encouraged to get in the spirit and wear a costume! The first ten people to show up in costume will win an OEV gift bag and the next ten will receive Construction Dollars. Make sure to impress us with your costume, we’ll be looking for commitment in our winners! Other giveaways will be happening early in the evening, so come early and stay late.
